Executive coaching supports you in your development and
performance as an executive leader through an ongoing, collaborative
relationship focused on helping you to make shifts and take the actions needed
to succeed and thrive in your role.
As an executive coach I play several
roles: thought partner, facilitator, guide, sounding board, provocateur,
trainer, cheerleader, advisor, truth sayer and co-creator.
Coaching is
delivered through the structure of regular weekly coaching sessions three times
a month for a monthly fee. The Executive Coaching relationship is for a 6 month
commitment of time to start-the minimum time needed to move forward
simultaneously on the leadership, organization and personal development fronts.
Most clients consider the coaching relationship an invaluable ongoing
one.
We begin by having an initial interview to determine the
appropriate "fit" between us. I ask all of my prospective clients to interview
at least one other coach before deciding to work with me.
During our
interview conversation I seek out the opportunity to coach you on a real issue
so that it can be experienced. I tell each new person what my background is,
how I coach and what they can count on me for.
And the
Coaching Begins The coaching relationship is launched with an intake
process that includes a questionnaire and various assessments, selected based
on the needs of the individual being coached. During the intake process, we
work together to develop a focus for coaching on the levels of self, leadership
and organization. Then the coaching begins. Coaching is delivered in
weekly sessions, usually by telephone, depending on the needs and issues facing
the executive. Prior to the call, clients prepare for the session using a
simple preparation form that identifies what they want to work on. They forward
it to me by e-mail or fax in advance of our call. A focus is established at the
beginning of each call for that session.
The coaching continues between
sessions. During most sessions, an action plan is developed or field work
assigned. Clients are encouraged to be in touch between calls to share a win,
get some laser coaching before taking on a challenge or just to touch base.
E-mail coaching (cyber-coaching) is available on a daily basis as part of the
relationship.
